The Outreach Church of The Rock was organized under the leadership of Reverend Jessie Green III. Pastor Jessie Green, a dedicated servant to God; was privileged to share God’s word during his membership, at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church.

While he was blessed with the opportunity, to serve under the leadership of Pastor R. K. Reynolds, as a minister; he also knew that God had a higher calling for him. In early 2016 Pastor Green accepted his calling to be a Pastor of a flock that God would send him. – It was His calling that Pastor Green share the Word with his own congregation.

It was in complete surrender and obedience that over the next several months, Pastor Green would listen and follow the path that God had set for him, based on Psalms 71:3 Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress The Outreach Church of The Rock was birthed. The first service was held on July 10 and was attended by 65 worshipers, twenty of whom regularly attend the Sunday service.

Pastor Jessie Green is an innovative and inspiring man of God who is committed to those that are hurting and in need of not only a Word, but of service that would garner hope and change in not only the church, but in the community at large.

Pastor Green along with his energetic and creative wife, Cheryl are constantly finding ways to connect all people through the guidance of the Holy Spirit in a practical and inviting way. This dynamic pastor and wife duo know and embrace the reality that teaching and preaching the Word is not enough; one must live the Word. Pastor Green’s vision is to bring the older generation, which he fondly refers to as the seasoned saints, with the younger generation in a way that grows and binds them both with wisdom and hope. He always says, “So much can be learned from each other when we bring these two generations together.” This is evident in their tremendous amount of passion and commitment reflected in their previous and ongoing endeavors such as:

WE BELIEVE

The Rock is the right place to allow you to grow and fulfill God’s purpose for your life in Christian service.

God created you, Jesus saved you, the Holy Spirit guides you, and we all love you.

OUR MISSION

To be a church that displays the love of God, faith in Christ and to connect all people through the Holy Spirit.

OUR COMMUNITY

Pastor Green’s long-term vision is for the church to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the community; being committed to the reality; that without love, we are without the very reason for our existence. He hopes that someday soon, The Rock will have ministries in place that will help address the spiritual and physical needs impacting the communities.

SALVATION

Salvation is the transformation of a person’s individual nature and relationship with God as a result of repentance and faith in the atoning death of Jesus Christ on the cross. All humanity stands in need of salvation which is only possible through faith in Christ Jesus. Believers are saved by grace through faith for good works. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
