We are all excited that you have chosen to visit Outreach Church of The Rock ("The Rock"). As a child of God, you have been granted the same rights, advantages, privileges, and protection He provides for all who belong to Him. At The Rock, all are accepted for who we are, forgiven for what we’ve done, and loved because of Christ. As a member of His family, God has a purpose for you to fulfill. We, as the body of Christ, follow His will and work together as one (1 Corinthians 12:12-31). The Rock stands as a beacon of faith in Midlothian. We are a place of prayer, peace, and joy for all who join us. We strive to have a richly diverse community, with people of different ages and backgrounds coming together to worship and serve. We welcome all individuals seeking God’s love, and our doors are open to every soul seeking to welcome Jesus into their hearts.

Outreach Church of The Rock was organized under the leadership of Reverend Jessie Green, III. Pastor Green, a dedicated servant of God, was privileged to share God’s word during his membership at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church.

While he was blessed with the opportunity to serve under the leadership of Pastor R. K. Reynolds as a minister, he also knew that God had a higher calling for him. In early 2016, Pastor Green accepted his calling to be the pastor of a flock that God would send him. It was his calling to share the Word with his congregation.

In complete surrender and obedience, Pastor Green listened and followed the path that God had set for him, based on Psalms 71:3: "Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress." Outreach Church of The Rock was birthed. The first service was held on July 10 and was attended by 65 worshipers, twenty of whom regularly attend the Sunday service.

Pastor Green is an innovative and inspiring man of God who is committed to those who are hurting and in need of not only a Word but also service that brings hope and change, not only to the church but to the community at large.

Pastor Green, along with his energetic and creative wife, Cheryl, constantly finds ways to connect all people through the guidance of the Holy Spirit practically and invitingly. This dynamic pastor-and-wife duo knows and embraces the reality that teaching and preaching the Word is not enough; one must live the Word. Pastor Green’s vision is to bring the older generation, whom he fondly refers to as the "seasoned saints," together with the younger generation in a way that binds them both with wisdom and hope. He always says, “So much can be learned from each other when we bring these two generations together.” This is evident in their tremendous amount of passion and commitment, reflected in their previous and ongoing endeavors such as:

  • B.A.M. (Boys and Men) Ministry

  • G.R.A.C.E. (Gracefully Rising Above Challenges Every Day) Ministry

  • S.E.S. Ministry (Sisters Encouraging Sisters)

WE BELIEVE

The Rock is the right place to allow you to grow and fulfill God’s purpose for your life in Christian service.

God created you, Jesus saved you, the Holy Spirit guides you, and we all love you.

OUR MISSION

To be a church that displays the love of God, faith in Christ and to connect all people through the Holy Spirit.

OUR COMMUNITY

Pastor Green’s long-term vision is for the church to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the community; being committed to the reality; that without love, we are without the very reason for our existence. He hopes that someday soon, The Rock will have ministries in place that will help address the spiritual and physical needs impacting the communities.

SALVATION

Salvation is the transformation of a person’s individual nature and relationship with God as a result of repentance and faith in the atoning death of Jesus Christ on the cross. All humanity stands in need of salvation which is only possible through faith in Christ Jesus. Believers are saved by grace through faith for good works. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
